Los Angeles-Based Label Makes Bold Statements Accessible to the Community that Inspired Them 

 

In a distinct move to bring high-concept fashion to Los Angeles, not thompson officially launches as the collaborative brainchild of long-time designer Jameelah Graham and her creative partners, Nahal Nazer and Niall Thompson. 


Embodying a fresh approach to fashion, not thompson forsakes traditional brand namesakes to highlight the power of collective creativity. Founded by friends, the brand offers unique designs that do not compromise on style, substance or ethical standard - all the while remaining accessible to the community who inspires them. 


Founded in 2023, not thompson creates statement pieces in small batches for a fashion-literate community. Focused on bold silhouettes, asymmetrical cuts, and oversized blocks, the trio hope to push the envelope of what’s previously been labeled “LA Fashion” and to elevate the city’s aesthetic. 


Coming with a long resume of street and RTW brand experience since the start of the millennium, Jameelah’s magic touch is found in the way she fuses oversized patterns with form-fitting details, using asymmetry and high-low cuts to flatter a wide range of forms.  "Our mission is to make high-concept fashion accessible to everyone. We celebrate individuality through confident and thoughtful designs that resonate with people from all walks of life," says Jameelah Graham, Co-Founder & Designer of not thompson.

Crafted in the heart of Los Angeles- where two of the company’s founders were born and raised - not thompson leverages local talent and resources to bring their pieces to life. With a commitment to meticulous craftsmanship, garments are produced in small batches to allow for market testing; for this brand, the creative process is very much a dialogue with its consumers and community. In addition to limited runs, the team utilizes deadstock fabric whenever possible.  "We're not just creating clothes; we're fostering a community that values sustainable and ethical fashion," adds Niall Thompson, Co-Founder.


Our Debut Collection

The debut collection, which features a small but mighty range of pieces crafted almost entirely from raw denim & French terry, is designed to cater to diverse tastes with versatile styling. Each piece in the collection can function as a stand-alone statement or be layered with other pieces from the collection for full get-ups that beg to be seen. “We create pieces that draw attention effortlessly. The idea is that when you see not thompson in the wild, you start to recognize our signature silhouette”, says Nahal Nazer, Co-Founder. From innovative cuts to eco-friendly materials, not thompson is set to become a staple for creative individuals who prioritize style, sustainability, and expressing themselves.
